Valuable Considerations On Changing Your Life Through A Sensible Diet
Thursday, May 6th, 2010We all know that we need to change our diets to a holistic nutrition approach, and avoid the sugar, dairy, processed oils and white flour. This list of products is very bad for us, causes disease and aging and it is amazing to see how people recover from chronic diseases by eliminating them. These elements promote inflammation and can really do a number on arteries and tissue throughout your body.
If you don’t change your ways, flour and sugar can help to ruin your life. Unbelievably, 160 pounds of sugar and over 200 pounds of white flour will find their way into our bodies in any one year and children get involved with this habit from a young age. They build up an addiction resulting in lifelong health problems and elevated blood sugar levels. With elevated blood sugar, free radicals swarm around our body, causing inflammation and starting disease. It is very difficult to avoid these poisons that are included in all kinds of foods within our “staple” diet — breakfast cereals, cakes, pasta, bread, soft drinks, candy, it’s really sad!
Milk products are also hazardous to our health these days as modern cow herds are fed with tainted grain, altering the proportion of fatty acids contained. Omega-3 fats are stripped and an imbalance is created. One out of every two of us is actually allergic to dairy without even knowing it!
Our diet situation is compounded due to the fact that oils and fats have an excess amount of Omega-six fatty acids. Reaction after reaction takes place within our bodies, causing chronic inflammation. If we were to consume these elements in an equal way then we would be able to live in harmony as we once did, but unfortunately we ingest as much as 30 times as much Omega-6, as we do Omega-3.
If someone’s depressed, a dietary thing we can do is to improve the oil quality we use. How about making your own salad dressing? You should consider using flax seed oil or extra virgin olive oil. Many of the oils we use are creating inflammation, including heated oils like canola oil, soy oil and safflower oil.
It doesn’t stop there, as beef fed with grain, poultry and farmed fish have excessive omega-6 fatty acids as well. Altogether, these add up to a huge excess of inflammatory compounds. Due to this inflammation, disease is rampant and we have to be able to replace our poor choices with healthy oils and fats.
Within the last couple of generations, as holistic nutrition has become ever less present in our society, we have markedly changed the way that we consume foods and we are setting ourselves up for serious and considerable problems.
We do not receive the nutrients we need as we do not pay attention to holistic nutrition, as pretty much everything that comes in a box, jar or can is processed and has nutrients removed. In place, we add preservatives, artificial flavors and colors, or toxins, making our bodies work extremely hard to try and detoxify and causing a serious problem if we try and lose weight. Other elements, added to our foods are causing us to gain weight. You will find dangerous trans fats, neurotoxins such as aspartame and high fructose corn syrup in processed foods.
Even as we try to maintain a productive and functional distribution system, chemicals find their way unchecked into our food systems. It’s not very nice to think of all the insecticides, fungicides, larvacides and pesticides that find their way into our systems. Our foods are low in nutrients, but high in calories and chemicals. Little wonder that we feel lethargic, overweight and drained all the time.
