Lose Weight - Tips To Help Those Who Just Can’t Stop Eating

Saturday, September 6th, 2008

Most weight loss programs involve restrictive diets. This can’t be avoided. Only through proper diet coupled with regular exercise can a person truly achieve sustainable weight loss.

However, if you can’t muster the required level of discipline to moderate what you eat, you can still lose some weight by watching what you eat. Below are 6 weight loss tips for people who just can’t stop eating.

1. An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Choosing apple over a snack , however, can help you save as much as 70 calories per day. As a substitute for getting burger or eating a few donuts every time you crave for food before mealtime, eat an apple. It’s healthier, it has fewer calories, and it has fat-burning properties as well .

2. Carry a clean napkin all the time. No, it is not for your perspiration. On the other hand, use your tissue to absorb the oil in your food before your intake. You’ll be able to drain a substantial amount of grease, about a teaspoon per a table napkin, and save yourself from acquiring 50 to 100 calories.

3. Soup as an appetizer. By starting every meal with soup, you’ll have smaller space for the main meal. Soup often has fewer calories than the main dish. This can save you up to 100 calories.

4. Replace your fries with onion rings. Identical cost. Identical way of cooking. Same fulfilling taste. Unidentical amount of calorie. Onion rings only contains a small amount of calories of French fries. This can save you up to 60 calories per serving.

5. Avoid getting soda. Some meals only taste good with soda. Instead of ordering the regular variety, choose diet. Diet coke, Pepsi Max… same great taste, different calorie content. Switching soda preferences can save you up to 300 calories everyday.

6. Drink lots of water. Manage your craving by filling your tummy with non-fattening water. This is effective all the time!

Diet and Weight lose tips that work?

Monday, September 29th, 2008

I need help!!! I need to lose some weight and don't know what all to do. I exercise regularly and eat no more than anyone else at the dinner table. I barely even eat out. What are some tips that actually work fast!?

What kind of exercise are you doing? You need to do a blend of fast-paced cardio, slower paced cardio and weight training. Also, cutting out high fat or refined carbs will kick start weight loss. I hit a plateau until I cut out dairy (make sure to take a calcium supplement) and now the weight is melting off again (but I also exercise 6x week). Try the Firm workouts, they have the perfect blend of cardio, weight training and sculpting and have done wonders for my bum!

Lose Body Fat Tips

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

Body fat is an important issue of your overall health. Reducing your body fat is important, because too much body fat can make you more prone to serious health difficulties, such as a heart attack or a stroke. It can also drain your energy and create problems with your movement. There are ways to reduce your body fat percentage that don’t require a serious diet or a lucrative program that costs thousands of dollars. All it takes is a little bit of creativity and some willpower.

One of the first things you should do is to figure out your body fat percentage. You can find this out through a number of methods, but an exact number representing your body fat percentage is usually quite hard to discern, and your doctor can provide numbers that are more accurate in a few minutes. It involves an equation and finding out your average density.

If an individual is serious about reducing body fat, the first place to start is body fat measurement. This evaluation may not be a great ego booster, but it is a good motivator. If an individual has dangerously high body fat, a drastic change in lifestyle might be necessary, and this may be the push he or she needs to make a change and get healthy. The body fat measurement can be used as a guide to put one on the right path to better health.

Replace Food with Better Food

One of the first things you should do is to replace rice, pasta and breads with vegetables. This isn’t like the Atkins diet, in which you drop the carbohydrates in your diet. This technique replaces a type of carbohydrate with another type of carbohydrate, providing your diet with a better way to burn them altogether. Fruits and veggies are better fat burners than rice, pasta and breads, so they will help you reduce your body fat.

Drink Water

Next, drink plenty of water each day. Consuming a lot of water actually makes it harder for the fat to stick to your body, allowing you to lose body fat and keep it off. Water also flushes your body out and removes harmful toxins, creating a better body system with which to fight off body fat. Water also raises your energy level, if you drink enough of it, and can improve your concentration.

Resistance Training

If you add some light resistance training to your workout and you do it before you do any cardio, you’ll find that you will have an easier time with your goal to lose body fat. This occurs because your body does not actually burn fat for the first portion of your exercise, so it is better to allow your body to warm up to get rid of body fat. Elevate your heart rate by doing some light training, then go forward with the whole routine.

A proper diet, keeping well hydrated and regular exercise are excellent and cost-efficient ways to improve health without spending large amounts of money. Expensive diets and special programs to reduce body fat percentage are not required to lose weight, but creativity and a genuine commitment are. If an individual is serious about losing body fat and is willing to put in the time and energy toward doing so, then that’s already one foot on the road to better health.

Why does everyone run the weight loss plan called Herbalife down?

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

I used their plan to lose 95 pounds in 8 months and have been able to keep it off for almost 6 years now. It seems like everyone I speak with tells me it is a scam and does not work…I am living proof it does work, so why do they cut it down?

I think it's the pyramid selling that maybe attracts the "scam" label. If it worked for you, well done!

My girlfriend is trying to lose weight…tips or methods?

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

She is 5'2 and weighs 125. She seems fine to me, but eh…she wants to cut down on her weight. She started running 3-4 times a week for an hour. She's trying to thin out her legs a bit and lose some stomach fat I believe. Any other tips on how she can lose weight? She really doesn't want to go into a strict diet, so any tips on that?
ah yes, i forgot to say that she is 20

I was going to suggest running. It is by far and away, the BEST way to lose weight. Just buy a copy of any runners magazine and look at the pics of the long distance runners, Tight, toned, incredible shape, not underweight, but not an ounce of fat on their bodies either. The very best way to lose weight, keep your blood sugar levels in check, fight stress and lower cholesterol, all the while strengthening your heart and lungs. And the best part about running is, the ENDORPHINS! If you have never experienced a true "runners high" from the release of Endorphins in the brain, you are missing a real great natural "high".
Encourage her to keep going, she is doing the absolute best thing she could be. And she'll be able to eat ALL she wants to!

Are Slimming Tablets Safe?

Friday, September 26th, 2008

It is common to see people that are very unsure about how safe the diet pills they are consuming are.

Clinical studies have shown that diet pills and weight loss pills can have adverse effects on the body.

Most of the diet pills on the market have unwanted side effects, and can interfere with other medication we take. diet pills should not be viewed as a long term weight loss strategy. However as a short term strategy to loose unwanted pounds and to control appetite, there are a few diet pills out there that will not affect your body in a negative way.

Typically “unsafe” diet pills will affect your metabolism. By speeding up your metabolism, you will burn more fat. However it is these that provide the unwanted effects.

“Safe” diet pills will help you lose weight without affecting your body negatively. These type of products (for example Proactol) are 100% natural with no man-made substances. They work by preventing your body from absorbing all the fat you ingest throughout the day. This results in steady and safe weight loss. Over the counter, or online non prescription safe diet pills will aid in effective weight loss and help you increase your energy levels for you to enjoy your life.

What do you think of the Pink Patch that's advertised on this site for weight loss?

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Scam? Dangerous? Thoughts please.

It's a scam. What little bit of plastic is REALLY going to aid weight loss. It's all a bit pathetic really. I don't know what's in it, but I highly doubt it would aid weight loss.
Also, I think the advert in itself is terrible. There's that girl with the perfect body with the quote "Feeling Fat?" I mean, come on! How to lower self-esteem! She clearly doesn't need to lose weight, yet there she is trying to lose it. It sends out completely the wrong message. it says that even if your that skinny, you still need to lose weight. Also, note the color of the bikini, it's neon pink. Hmm. I wonder who that will appeal to? Pre-teens anybody? I think so! When you're that age you're already conscious enough about your body, that just fuels the size 0 campaign.
Personally, I think it's a disgrace. It should be removed from all sites, no matter where it is. If they are going to advertise it, at least do it in a way that doesn't promote low self-esteem and eating disorders.

Ugh. It makes me SO angry every time I look at it!

Help For Achieving The Best Results From A Healthy Weight Loss Diet

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Not only can a healthy weight loss diet help you get into better shape, but it can also lessen your risk for certain disorders such as heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure, to name just a few. And a healthy plan for losing weight can also lessen the damaging effects of certain ailments that one may already be stricken with as well. To help you achieve the best results from a healthy weight loss diet, keep the following strategies in mind.

The first thing to remember is that in order to lose those extra pounds, your calorie intake has to be less than the amount your body is actually burning on a daily basis. This may seem like an obvious statement, but it’s worth mentioning because that seems to be the one major point people take for granted. If you’re eating more than you’re burning off, no matter which healthy weight loss diet plan you follow, the pounds are just not going to come off. This is one of the reasons people get frustrated when they don’t see the results of their dieting efforts. So think about what you’re consuming every day in relation to your level of activity. This could very well lead you to one of the answers you’re looking for in terms of your weight loss or lack thereof.

Secondly, realizing that getting into shape is not solely based on a healthy weight loss diet alone will be another step in the right direction toward achieving your desired results. Incorporating exercise into any diet regimen will not only ensure that certain areas of your body will decrease in size, but also that they will become more fit and firm. Exercising along with your healthy eating habits will also speed up those results as you’ll be burning more calories and fat than you would by just dieting alone.

Keep in mind that there is really no quick fix for weight loss. By doing so, it will help you hold stead-fast to your plan because once you realize that the pounds are not going to miraculously melt off over night, you can take some peace of mind in knowing that you are working towards a goal and making the efforts that will eventually result in achieving the success you’re after. Something else to remember is that things like crash dieting, surgery and diet pills are only temporary fixes because if you’re still not eating right and exercising after you’ve dropped the weight, those pounds will eventually be right back where they were before, and might even show up in a few new places as well. So, it’s very important to consciously and consistently live a nutritiously balanced and active lifestyle regardless of your choice of healthy weight loss diet plans.

And a great benefit of sticking to your plan and then experiencing the positive results of your efforts is that it’s also a wonderful way to boost your self-esteem. Consider the pride you’ll feel once you achieve the level of success you’re after in terms of getting into shape. You’ll not only look better, but feel better as well because you did something good for yourself. Give yourself that well-deserved pat on the back and move forward confidently as you maintain the new and improved lifestyle that you achieved, all on your own, by committing to your healthy weight loss diet efforts.
